Big and Small updates as of Dec 18th 2009

As of Dec 15th 2009, the GMPS is now a part of "the Paranormals" Community. Who and what are they, well I will let there own mission statement speak for its self.

"Mission Statement:
In the process of pursuing the goal of obtaining data to lead to a better understanding of ghosts and hauntings, our first ambition is to aid any individuals who are having problems dealing with or understanding a paranormal situation. We hope to do this by educating them as to the true nature of their individual situation and giving them the information and understanding to create a livable resolution for the person and the spirit. The Paranormals will not take on a case and leave our client’s side until the client is satisfied that they currently live in a serene living environment. If for any reason The Paranormals can not be available for a client in a certain time span due to the locale of the client, a qualified team nearest to the client’s location will be assigned to the case. Only reputable groups with a strong history and background will be designated for this duty, by virtue of our creed that the client is the number one priority concerning paranormal activity.

The Paranormals conduct themselves in a professional manner and ALL cases will be kept confidential unless the client/homeowner wishes to have their experiences disclosed to others who may be in the same position for the purpose of letting others be cognizant that they are not the only persons dealing with situations of the same origin and that they can be remedied. ALL records, investigative footage, evidence and any other pertinent information to the case will only be viewed and discussed by team members of The Paranormals to keep client confidentiality to a premium. Through our mission, The Paranormals greatest importance is that of the client’s knowledge of the paranormal and the resolution the team can impose to a client to resolve their situation and such procedures will be utilized to preserve these goals
"

So in short, we will work within the Paranormals Community doing everything we all ready do so very well. Helping all who need our help, only now we can help fellow teams and vis versa. For anyone who would like to see who all is apart of it, click on there banner on the GMPS homepage. I will tell you that one of the founders of the Paranormals is none other then Brian Harnois of "Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International" fame. We here in the GMPS is looking forward to working with the Paranormals in the near future and hope to not only live up to but surpass the standards set out in there mission statement.

In the last few months the GMPS has been in the field and doing everything it can to help others, and it was our goal to bring back GMPS Radio and TV on the Paranormal TV Network however time just was not there for it. Now if you have not seen it yet, on the main page we did start up a GMPS TV page that has steaming video running. We have decided that for now we will run GMPS TV on our own and plan on moving it over to them or someone in the near future once we have more then just a few videos to post. Over the next few months I hope to film some new videos for the site and bring back GMPS Radio on the Blog Talk Network. So keep checking back for updates on them.

And until Jan 2nd 2010 the GMPS will be taking a much needed holiday vacation. Now that does not mean that if you are in need of our services it has to hold off until Jan, you can still call or email us and get the same prompt service that we pride our self on. But an investigation will only be set up for cases of a direr nature.

Where ever you are reading this, please be sure to follow us on face book, twitter, my space, and our blog page. Big News From The Office of the GMPS

As promised we do have kind of big news from the Greater Maryland Paranormal Society. As of today we are now apart of the "Paranormal TV Network", and on November 11Th 2009, will be the premiere of "GMPS Radio" on there network. Along with "GMPS Radio" we will also run new episodes of "GMPS TV".

GMPS Radio is a live radio show that will cover all areas of the Paranormal from stories and urban legends to movies and TV show reviews. The hour long show will try to stay on one topic but that will depend on my mind that night. This show was on Blog Talk Radio and if you go over there you can catch a few old shows that are podcast ed. GMPS Radio is also looking for people to come on and interview. So if you are a part of a paranormal team, a medium, have a great personal story that happened to you, or have something coming up that would interest a audience who has come to hear about the paranormal then email me at gmp_society@yahoo.com and let me know that I need to book you for GMPS Radio.

GMPS TV will be prerecorded episodes of the GMPS doing what they do best. It is our goal to highlight some of our investigations and present them is a entertaining way. We will also do some online web shows on all types of things from interviews to the how to's of paranormal investigations. If you would like to be a guest on GMPS TV or have a location that you would like us to investigate for a future episode please email me and let me know the details. Please remember that if you contact us about a location you must have permission from the location or be the owner of the location. But much like GMPS Radio we would like to hear from and interview people who have had dealings with the paranormal and want to share there story.

Thanks it from the GMPS. I hope you find this as exciting as we do and hope that you will check in with us over at Paranormal TV Network. http://www.paranormaltvnetwork.com/index.html

GMPS Is Now Looking For Team Members

To all,

What I did not know would be so fast has not happened. Over the last week we have been forced to remove two members of the GMPS off of the active roster and one of our original members has droped out. This has now left a small opening in our active members roster and as such. The GMPS is now looking for the needed replacements to our team. I will lay it out for you all and if at the end you feel you are GMPS team member quality, then email me and set up a interview.

Please click on this link and read the rules. http://www.greater-maryland-paranormal-society.com/rules1.html. Also you must live in the state of MD, and be over 21 at this point. Willing and able to travel to what ever location we maybe investigating. Must be able to pass a full background check and if needed pass a drug screening. Must also take part in all aspects of the investigation. That also means you must attend meetings, evidence review and research as needed. If you apply to the GMPS you are expected to always be in contact with the GMPS. That means that you must reply to any and all emails coming off of the GMPS groups page and direct sent emails. If you pass the interview and background checks you will be called back for formal training dates. As per our own rules, you will not be allowed to investigate any locations until you have gone out 2 times as a investigator in training.

We will be having an open call for new investigators on Tuesdays at the Starbucks on Ritchie Hwy across from the DMV in Glen Burnie from 4pm to 6pm. Email me at gmp_society@yahoo.com if you think you can make it.

Membership in the GMPS and other things

Hello all.

I wanted to thank everyone who in the past few weeks have requested membership in the Greater Maryland Paranormal Society. We are more then honored that you have seeked membership with us. But at this point sadly we are not taking new members. You may wonder why so here is the reason. We have times when we have lots of cases and are in need of many members, but then there are also times when we have no cases in sight. And I dont feel that its fair to bring on new members to a team that at times have to wait to go on an investigation. Seeing that we are a on call service, if we dont have cases we dont investigate. We are not the kind to go out and hang in grave yards, abandoned buildings or battlefields for kicks. If we are not requested then we dont investigate it. And even with the number that we have, there are times when some members are not allow on a case due to the size of the location. Bringing new people on will only add to that. And there are some members who have been with the team since the very start of the GMPS, and they will have first choice on cases. But as things progress we will have need for new members, and when we do it will be posted on here. If you have emailed us a application it will be kept on file for 6 months.

So if you have tryed to join in the past few months we want to thank you for choosing the GMPS team and as slots open up we will be in touch. And please keep checking back on openings in the GMPS team.
